Michelle Cordero

I thought yoga was for sissies.

When I graduated from Dartmouth College, I never imagined myself spinning around a pole.  I did always see myself helping women or girls with self empowerment and health education.  Now I’ve been teaching yoga for over fifteen years, and I am so grateful I get to coach people to embody their best selves.

I had matured like a fine wine.

When I turned 40, I felt stronger and sexier than ever before in my life. Remember yourself in your 20’s? I personally had no self awareness or understanding of my own beauty, my sensuality (and thus my own power) when I was young.  The combination of hard life lessons along with a yoga and sensual movement practice, had me landing at 40 feeling pretty damn badass.  I created my own movement style called Sensual Yoga to help other women feel the same way.  Then somewhere after age 45, much to my surprise, I started to feel my badass hottie identity fading.  Like that bottle of fine wine you’ve kept a little bit too long, I started to just not feel so spicy and seductive.

I thought this would never happen to me – I have all the right “tools”!

Still, I just didn’t feel sexy or vibrant anymore, and then I’d look in the mirror and wonder who the older person was looking back at me.  I started to buy into the LIE that my age was a liability.  I tried a few extreme diets, they just left me more tired and hating my husband for enjoying his morning coffee and bagel.  I went looking for a strengthening exercise, but I ended up in the back of the TRX class modifying all of the high impact moves feeling really uncoordinated. I started to envy young women’s skin and natural glow, and I tried to rationalize cosmetic surgery.   My inner critic took control, and my envy, judgement and negative self talk began eating away at my joy.  Fortunately I woke up to the problem, and I put myself on this program.

Here I am at 49, I love my life, I pole dance weekly.

I lead trainings and retreats internationally, and I now embrace being seen as “older and wiser”. I’m a grown-ass woman who has done quite a bit of work on herself (and continues to!), it feels really good.

Work with me and refuse to act your age. I can’t wait to show you how!
